Liezl is die slim en mooi meisie met die goue stem wat Tiaan en Zane se voete onder hulle uitslaan. Tiaan is weer effens skaam met 'n romantiese streep en 'n passie vir foto's en Post-It-Plakkers. Tiaan het ook 'n meer kreatiewe kant as Zane en vind dit moeiliker om oor sy emosies te praat. Dit maak dit moontlik om al die foto's en plakkers te gebruik aangesien die skrywer hierdie metode gebruik om Tiaan se gedagtes bekend te maak. Dit bevorder ook identifikasie tussen die tienerleser en die karakter van Tiaan. Tiaan is die gemiddelde ou met die mal vriend wat al die aandag kry. Hy en sy beste vriend wil soos alle tieners 'n band begin en dieselfde meisie hê. Die situasies in die boek is iets waarmee tieners werklik te doen kry en daarom kan hulle met hierdie karakter op 'n persoonlike vlak identifiseer. Die humor word op so 'n manier geïnkorporeer in die verhaal dat dit op die kritiese oomblikke gebeur wat nie net spanning verlig nie, maar ook die boek 'n ligter toon gee. Wat die humor nog meer genotvol maak is dat dit reg deur die hele boek loop en nie net losstaande insidente is nie. Mens verwag met hierdie karakters dat iets skreeusnaaks gaan gebeur, en dit gebeur weer en weer. Dit klink dalk nie realisties om 'n skool se radiostasie gyselaar te hou nie maar alles is moontlik op hoërskool. Tipiese gebeure soos die rumoer kompetisie en die liefdesdriehoek is meer tradisioneel en dus ook vanselfsprekend geloofwaardige gebeure waarmee die tiener kan identifiseer.
